Andre Ayew

Ghanaian Andrew Ayew scored for Swansea City in the English Championship on Sunday to continue with his rich vein of form.

Ayew thought he had earned Swansea a win over Reading FC when he scored in the 88th minute at Madejski Stadium.

Swansea had trailed after Yakou Meite headed in a 30th-minute opener.

But goals from Jamal Lowe and Ayew were enough to grant Swansea a point and with it a place in the play-offs.

The Ghanaian had come off the bench in the 65th minute and his impact was instant.

On the other hand, Reading would level in stoppage time through Tomas Esteves,

Swansea are on fifth place in the table on 77 points with two games remaining.

Swansea boss Steve Cooper has since hailed the impact of Ayew in helping Swansea secure a Championship play-off spot.

“And, while Cooper acknowledged the contribution made by the whole team during the game, he had plenty of praise for man-of-the-match Ayew,” Swansea website reports.
