All sports UFC 261:Kamaru KnockOut Masvidal To Retain Welterweight Title

 
 
 
Nigerian nightmare and UFV welterweight champion, Usman Kamaru made a strong statement at the UFC knocking out Jorge Mavidal in the second round.
 
The undefeated UFC welterweight champion floored his American opponent with a crushing right hand knockout  in the main event of UFC 261 in the early hours of Sunday in Jacksonville, Florida.
 

Sunday fight was the first UFV event with a capacity of 15,269 since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and Kamaru made it memorial at the VuStar Veteran Memorial Arena bout.

Both fighters had met in 2020 with Kamaru flooring Masvidal in a unanimous decision.
 
However, it was a different ball game that the Nigerian nightmare brought becoming the first person to hand the American a TKO since 2008.
 
Kamaru was to face Gilbert Burns who tested positive for coronavirus and Masvidal got just six days to prepare for the match.
 
Kamaru has now defended his title for. A fourth consecutive time recording 14 straight UFC victory.

His 14 consecutive victories is the second-longest winning streak in UFC history. Only Anderson Silva has more consecutive wins in UFC history (16).

Speaking after the match, UFC president Dana White said Usman next opponent will be against Colby Covington.

It will be rematch of their first meeting in 2019 which Usman also won via a fifth round TKO at the UFC 245.
