CAF Champions League Ivory Coast To Host CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU B

Ivory Coast has been announced as host for the West African Football Union – Zone B (WAFU B) qualification tournament for the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League.

Eight female clubs in the continent will compete in the finals of the maiden African Women’s Champions League which commences later in the year.

CAF had in June last year agreed to launch the Women’s Champions League as part of its strategic plan to grow the women’s game.

WAFU B Executive Director Balima Boureima had in a memo sent to all the federations involved to notify them of the qualification host.

The memo reads:

“Following the reopening of the bidding process for the organization of the qualifying tournament of the Women Clubs Champions League, kindly be informed that Fédération Ivoirienne de Football (FIF) will host the said qualifying tournament.”

River Queens on Sunday emerged winner of the Nigeria Women Football League(NWFL) Premiership after a 4-0 win against Sunshine Queens in the NWFL Super Six.

They have now booked an automatic ticket to the group stage of the CAF Women Champions League.

Delta Queens who finished second with 9 points and will go straight to the playoff next month.
