Foot Africa Asamoah Gyan Back From Injury To Feature In 1-1 Draw Against Dreams FC

Legon Cities striker Asamoah Gyan has fully recovered from injury. And the veteran striker played a part in the team’s 1-1 draw with Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League.

After making a permanent move to the Royals in 2020, it was expected Gyan will take the league by storm. However, he has struggled to stay fit, forcing him to play little for the Accra-based side.

He replaced Hans Kwofie, a fellow striker, in the 83rd minute of the game last weekend.

For Legon Cities head coach, Bashir Hayford, Asamoah Gyan motivates that team a lot and they listen to him.

Gyan is gradually coming back and honestly, he was off for one year. Because during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic he was not playing which has made him slow.” Hayford said after the game.

But you know with Gyan everything about technique and tactics is still there. It is just a matter of getting him fit and we are working on that. We’re managing him for now. And he also plays a crucial role in inspiring the boys. Because he has seen it all and some of the players want to emulate him.

The players do take instructions from him. And you don’t have to joke with a player like that because of his vast experience in football.’’ He noted.

Gyan last played for the Black Stars in 2019.
