Africa Soccer EGYPT : Al Ahly director of football faults fatigue

Al Ahly Director of Football, Sayed Abdelhafiz, has attributed their 1-0 loss to Ghazl El Mahalla SC on Monday to fatigue.

Abdelhafiz told the club’s website that the players need to focus on the next two important games against Al Ittihad Alexandria Club and Zamalek SC.

El Mahalla played with a very good spirit. We were not good enough in the first half and we lost most of the duels. I believe that this is normal especially with our overwhelmed schedule,” he is quoted saying.

We have to deal with the situation. We have two important games ahead of us and we have to be fully focused on them.”

“We need to improve our performance in the next two games, it doesn’t matter what you are going through. I believe that we need to improve our performance in these two games specifically.”

Abdelhafiz also faulted the referees’ performances in the game.

The loss saw Al Ahly remain second on the log table with 37 points from 17 games behind leaders Zamalek who have 41 points from 19 matches.
