Africa Soccer Hugo Broos turns down DR Congo job as he confirms talks with SAFA over Bafana Bafana post

Former Cameroon head coach Hugo Broos has reportedly give up his post in DR Congo despite the fact that the FA was set to unveil him as he wants to take over Bafana Bafana job.

According to informations from highly-rated Congolese journalist Charles Mbuya, the 69-year-old tactician has greed all terms with the Congolese Football Association (FECOFA) on Tuesday.

And it was said that he will be unveiled on Wednesday morning, but the Belgian change his mind as he prefers the South African offer.

“We had contact one week ago,” Hugo Broos told Timeslive on Tuesday.

“The only thing I am willing to say for now is that there was contact with me one week ago. I don’t know what is going to happen in the next day or the coming days.

“Nothing has happened between me and the federation [Safa] and I don’t want to comment too much on this matter”, the AFCON 2017 winner added.

Now, FECOFA is yet to say whether they will appoint former Kenya coach Sebastien Migne who came second after Broos or launch another call for applications.
