Africa Soccer EGYPT : Zamalek coach happy with players discipline ahead of derby

Patrice Carteron

Zamalek coach, Patrice Carteron, has saluted his players for avoiding any booking in Thursday’s game against Smouha.

Carteron had warned the players before the Smouha Alexandria match to avoid getting yellow cards. Zamalek won the game 2-1.

It is good that we will play the summit without the absence of any of the basic elements,” Carteron said in a statement.

He said the availability of all key players was important ahead of Monday’s clash against rivals Al Ahly.

He feared that such cards would have affected the absence of some players before the next Al-Ahly match.

Zamalek have 44 points from 20 games whereas the league defending champions, Al Ahly, have 40 points from 18 games.

Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has since said he was planning for grueling matches against Zamalek (local league) and Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League
