Africa Soccer MALAWI : Kabwe shows Pasuwa who the boss is as Silver diffuse stray Bullets

Zambian  coach Dan Kabwe passed his biggest test in Malawi after guiding Silver Strikers FC to a 1-0 win over TNM Super League defending champions, Nyasa Big Bullets, at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday afternoon.

The 16-member league’s leading scorer Maxwell Gasten scored in injury time to hand Bullets their second defeat of the season and take Silver nine points clear of the holders.

Silver wound up the first-round with 35 points from 15 games whereas Bullets have one game to go on 26 points from 14 games.

Kabwe knew that back-to-back wins for Bullets would see Silver surrender the top spot, so he did not take chances.

In other games, Kamuzu Barracks FC thrashed fellow soldiers Mafco 4-0 with Kelvin Hanganda, Zinjani Yona, Gregory Nachipo and Francisco Kamdzeka on target.

Kamuzu Barracks are on position 11 with 17 points from 14 matches whereas Mafco are fifth with 22 points from 15 games.

Elsewhere, Blue Eagles earned maximum points over Ekwendeni Hammers without kicking the ball in Lilongwe.

The Mzuzu-based Hammers forgot to bring to Lilongwe players’ identity cards and as per rules and regulations, they lost the maximum points.

Hammers continue to slide on the table. They have 22 points from 14 matches.
