Zambian striker Patson Daka has hailed his Red Bull Salzburg FC’s team-mates after sealing Austria’s Tipico Bundesliga championship on Wednesday evening.
Daka was in his true elements, bagging a double in the 2-0 win over SK Rapid Wein to secure Salzburg the eighth championship on the trot.
In a post-match interview, Daka opted not to bask in personal glory, attributing his impressive scoring record to wonderful team ethic.
“We have loads of quality, also as individuals, and we work really well together. We are an incredible team. Everyone works for each other and we all support one another. It means so much to me, but it’s not only about me. It means so much to the club. I am just incredibly grateful and pleased that I was able to help the team to have such a good season. I am just really happy to be here,” he told Salzburg website.
Salzburg website reports that Daka scored in the 33rd and 56th minutes to hand Salzburg the title with 45 points from 30 games.
Salzburg finished the season seven points ahead of the second-placed Wein.
Daka, who is the Bundesliga top scorer with an incredible 26 league goals from 25 matches, featured in the match alongside compatriot Enock Mwepu.
