CAF Champions League CAFCC: Enyimba On Verge Of Exit After 4-1 Defeat To Pyramid

 

 

 

 

 

Enyimba FC are on the verge of exiting the CAF Confederation Cup after a disappointing 4-1 loss to Pyramids FC in Cairo on Sunday.

 The Peoples Elephant headed to the first leg of the quarter final of the CAF Confederation Cup after topping Group A.

With winger, Anayo Iwuala and others ruled out of competition, Enyimba were hoping to get their first away win this season having failed to to do so in the group stage.

They showed a glimpse of getting their first away win when Victor Mbaoma scored within a minute to give the visitors the lead.

However, the home team immediately bounced back as Ramadan Robhi scored the equalizer before Abdallah El Said completed thr come back heading to the first half.

Enyimba were complacent in the second half as Ibrahim Adel scored a brace in the second half to put the game beyon reach for Enyimba.

Enyimba will now have a lot it their hands to play for in the reverse fixture which will take place next week Sunday at the Enyimba international Stadium.

They need  to score three goals without conceding to advance into the semi-finals. 

Since the inception of the CAF Confederation Cup on 2004, no Nigerian club have won it.
