Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane hit back at claims saying he wanted to sign Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile after their 2-0 win over Brazilians in CAF Champions league quarter final first leg.

Pitso was on the winning side while reuniting with his former club Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday evening thanks to Taher Mohammed and Salah Mohsen goals.

And after the game, the 56-year-old had to answer questions related to the transfer window and his will to sign his former players especially Namibian star Shalulile.

But Mosimane said the reports are false as the only Mamelodi Sundowns player Al Ahly have had talks with is Gaston Sirino.

“There’s a report saying I want Shalulile, it’s a false report, the only player Ahly made contact with Mamelodi Sundowns with [Gaston] Sirino, the rest is people making up stories and talking a lot”, he said as per Kickoff.

Both teams will reunite next week in South Africa for the return leg of this CAF Champions league tie.
