African players abroad Mikel Arteta Much Impressed By Nicolas Pepe’s Performance Against Crystal Palace

Arsenal met Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday evening. And the winger Nicolas Pepe scored a brilliant brace in a 3-1 win for the Gunners.

Victory kept Arsenal’s slim hopes of securing European football for next season alive heading into the final round of the 2020-21 English Premier League season.

The Ivory Coast international completed a terrific team goal before finishing off a solo run to lead the Gunners to victory over their London rivals.

Pepe, 25, has now scored 14 goals and assisted a further five in 46 appearances for Arsenal this season. And his progress at Emirates Stadium has much impressed Mikel Arteta.

It’s my feeling and it’s everybody’s feeling in the coaching staff, and his own feeling that he’s come a long way this season.” The Gunners manager told Arsenal.com.

He hasn’t had the consistency sometimes in the gametime. But I think in Europe he’s been terrific. And in the Premier League he’s started to show much more what he’s like. And he’s very hungry.

“I think he’s changed a lot in his mentality and his willingness to do much more.” Continued the manager.
