Though his applications got negative anwsers, the 50-year-old, who wore 62 caps for Nigeria, remains hopeful he will get an opportunity to pass valuable knowledge onto his young countrymen.

I applied for the Nigeria U17 team job twice. And I was refused on both occasions.” George told TribalFootball.com.

I have not given up. Once that possibility arises again, I will apply and see what happens. I never threw in the towel.

“Nigeria have some coaches at the moment in charge of the team. And we all wish them the best. If the possibility comes again, i think I’m still available and I will apply.” He continued.

I have done coaching in the past with the youth teams. The Under 15, Under 19 and Under 23 in Spain and Holland.

“But at the moment, I’m not involved in coaching crew here in Europe.

“I think I have gained lots of experience over the years. And I look forward to working with a club either in Europe or Nigeria. I hope the opportunity arises and I will go for it.” George replied about his current coaching plans.
