Newly appointed Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos, 69 has revealed the reason which motivated his decision to leave aside Orlando Pirates skipper Thulani Hlatshwayo in his squad for June friendlies.
The Belgian manager named a limited 19-man squad four days ago for the FIFA International break next month as Bafana Bafana are set to take on Uganda on June 10.
However, the former Cameroon coach dropped many veteran in his squad including Thulani Hlatshwayo as well as Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune as he argued to be aiming to give chances to the young players.

Speaking on the absence of Pirates star in his squad, Hugo Broos said he just wants a good list for his very first one and did not rule out the fact that Hlatshwayo may be called up in September.
“I was getting a lot of information in the last few days; I talked with my assistant [Helman Mkhalele] and I made a list, I didn’t look at who was captain [previously],” said Broos after his announcement on Saturday as per Kickoff.
“I just wanted a good list, it is for the first time and we will see. In September there will be other names, I am sure, and maybe the captain [Hlatshwayo] will be there again. I also heard he didn’t have a good season, but he is not forgotten.”
