Nigerian Players abroad Paul Onuachu emerges as Liverpool target after prolific season with Genk

Nigerian and Genk free-scoring striker Paul Onuachu has reportedly emerged to be a summer target for Liverpool who recently secured Champions league football in Premier League for next season.

Onuachu netted 35 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions with Genk in Belgium this eeason.

He comes on top of African Players abroad to have scored more goals even than Liverpool star Mohamed Salah (31).

Only Zambian wonderkid Patson Daka have better figures than the Super Eagle this season with his 37 goals with RB Salzburg in Austria.

The 26-year-old forward scooped two awards at the end of the season in the Belgian top-flight.

According to Fichajes.net, the Nigerian star caught the eyes of Liverpool officials who would like to bolster their attacking options for the next season.

The Athletic added that Liverpool can land Onuachu whose contract runs until June 2024 with Genk, if only they offload players the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri or Divock Origi.

According to Transfermarkt, Paul Onuachu’s market value is just €17m.
