Africa Soccer ZAMBIA : Zanaco FC hire former Nkana coach Kaindu

Zanaco FC have hired Kelvin Kaindu, formerly of Nkana FC, as the new coach of the MTN Super Division-title chasing team.

Welcome to sensational Zanaco FC technical bench,” Zanaco posted on their website.

Zanaco posted a picture of Kaindu in the club’s colours on the website while signing a piece of a paper supposedly a contract. He is seen smiling while seated next to a Zanaco official.

However, there were no readily available details as regards the duration of the contract.

Zanaco have unveiled Kaindu a day after announcing that coach Chris Kaunda will not be in charge of the team’s last four games of the season.

In an earlier statement, Zanaco General Manager, Marlon Kananda, said they decided “to put their head coach on leave following a string of poor results.”

Kaunda’s one and half season stint as Zanaco FC coach has come to a halt after two consecutive defeats to bottom placed Kitwe United and Buildcon FC.

“Team manager Robin Munsanka will take charge of the team in the interim until the end of the season,” the statement quoted Kananda saying.

Zanaco are second on the 18-member log table with 50 points from 30 games.

The Lusaka bankers are trying to catch up with runaway leaders Zesco United, who are eight points clear and they have two games in hand.
