Africa Soccer MALAWI : Wanderers move to third place after outclassing Stars

Be Forward Wanderers made it a rare back-to-back wins after beating TN Stars 1-0 on Sunday in Malawi’s elite TNM Super League.

Youthful striker Mischeck Botomani converted from the penalty spot for Wanderers after he was fouled in the danger zone.

The Nomads have 31 points from 19 games, eight and five points behind leaders Silver Strikers and third-placed rivals Nyasa Big Bullets.

Stars are on position 10 with 23 points from 18 matches.

Silver await the final outcome of their game against Red Lions who walked off the pitch late in the second half after the Bankers were awarded a penalty.

Elsewhere, Karonga United chalked a rare away win, stunning Civil Service 1-0 through Chrispin Mhangama’s goal.

Civil dropped to sixth place as they have 29 points from 18 games whereas Karonga moved up to fifth place and they have 30 points from 18 matches.

At Mzuzu Stadium in the Northern Region, Chitipa United frustrated hosts Moyale Barracks to a goalless draw.
