Bafana Bafana abroad Rangers send Bongani Zungu to parent club Amiens after his loan spell

Bongani Zungu

Scottish Premiership champions Glasgow Rangers decided not to lift the buy option of Bafana Bafana midfielder Bongani Zungu and send him back to his parent club Amiens.

Zungu, 28 made 20 appearances across all competitions with Steven Gerrard’s side in the just-ended campaign.

The club’s decision not to keep him after his loan spell came after he and some of his teammates broke the mandated COVID-19 protocols.

“We made a number of changes to the squad last summer and the group has a real strength and connection in it between all of the players. Greg and Bongani were two really positive influences and popular members around the group,” the club’s Sporting Director Ross Wilson explained.

Now, Bongani Zungu has his future in his hands and will have to decide whether he will stay at Amiens in French’s second tier or push for a move.
