Ghana Black Stars coach CK Akonnor expressed delight over the progress the squad is having since his appointment as they take on rivals Ivory Coast on Saturday, June 12 at Cape Coast Stadium (5pm).

Charles Kwablan Akonnor was appointed Black Stars head coach in January 2020 in replacement of Kwesi Appiah who had to leave his post after a disappointing AFCON 2019 in Egypt.

Though he is yet to participate in a competition with the team, Akonnor is happy with its progress and called on Ghanaians to support the team.

“We are in the progress as the team is developing. This are becoming exciting and hopefully this continues”, CK Akonnor said ahead of Ivory Coast friendly, as per Sportworldghana.

“We need your support. Without you, it will be difficult for us. We ask that you are positive despite everything that we have gone through,” he added.
