Africa Soccer MALAWI : Kajoke’s treble fires Bullets to summit, Wanderers see off Lions

Youthful striker Hassan Kajoke bagged a hat-trick for Nyasa Big Bullets in the 3-0 rout of relegation-threatened Ntopwa FC on Wednesday afternoon.

The comprehensive win at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre fired the TNM Super League defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets to the summit of the log table.

Bullets took their tally to 42 points from 20 games, two points ahead of deposed leaders Silver Strikers who have a game in hand.

Silver were not in action on Wednesday and remain winless in the last three games.

Kajoke opened the scoring in the 18th minute before completing his hat-trick with two more strikes, including from the penalty spot, in the second half.

Ntopwa goal-poachers Hendrix Misinde and Mphatso Magaleta made a number of attempts on target.

However, Bullets goalkeeper Richard Chimbamba proved equal to the tasks.

It was yet another bad day for Ntopwa coach Karen Chawula who is still searching for her first win in the top-flight league.

She was hired last month to become the first-ever female coach to manage in the men’s elite league in Malawi.

Now, Ntopwa are staring relegation in the face, lying second from bottom of the 16-member log table with 15 points from 20 games.

Ntopwa are at par on the number of points with basement side Mzuzu Warriors who have a game in hand.

In another game, midfielder Francis Mkonda scored with a wonderful free-kick, before striker Mischeck Botomani added the second goal to hand Mighty Wanderers a 2-0 win over Red Lions in Blantyre on Wednesday.

The third back-to-back win sees Wanderers cement third spot on 34 points from 20 games whereas Lions have 25 points on 10th place.
