Reports from Zambia lightened the choice of Patson Daka who decided to join Leicester City rather than signing for Premier League giants Liverpool.

The 22-year-old ended the season with two major awards as he claim both MVP and top scorer accolades.

Daka scored 34 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions with RB Salzburg in the just-ended season.

When all reports were sending him to Anfield to wear the outfit of Liverpool, an offer of Leicester hijacked him from joining the Merseyside club.

According to ZambianFootball, the playing time is what convinced Patson Daka to join the Foxes. While the Reds are offering him a replacement role.

“Yes, talks with several various clubs which have been mentioned were held but his handlers made it clear that he was only to join a club which was going to offer him game time,” a ZamFoot Crew source said.

“For instance one of the big clubs held talks with his people and both sides were honest with each other.

“The club were eager to sign him but didn’t see him as a first-choice center forward. They wanted him to start as a fringe player. But his management didn’t agree with that proposal.”

The deal could be announced this Monday, June 21.
