CAF Champions League CAF CL : Chiefs qualify for final after sharing spoils with Wydad Casablanca

South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs have qualified for the CAF Champions League final after playing out to a goalless draw against Wydad Casablanca from Morocco on Saturday night.

Chiefs have qualified to the final 1-0 on aggregate having won the first leg played in Morocco 1-0 two weeks ago.

The Soweto giants will date either Al Ahly or Esperance in the final of the continental competition.

The Egyptian side were at the time of writing taking on Esperance in another semifinal second leg match played in Cairo on Saturday evening.

During the semi-final second leg match played at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, Chiefs featured Nigerian Daniel Akpeyi between the sticks ahead of Bruce Bvuma.

Upfront, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo got the not ahead of Leonardo Castro for the South African giants.

Despite such offensive chances for Chiefs, both teams could not find the target.

Serbian striker Samir Nurkovic, who scored in the away leg, had some half chances to score for the hosts but he missed the target.

On the other end, Wydad’s Ayoub El Kaabi threatened to score for the visitors but Akpeyi was equal to the task.
