CAF Champions League Daniel Akpeyi named MOTM after his heroic display against Wydad

Veteran Nigerian goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has been in another level of performance for Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday in their CAF Champions League tie against Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca.

The 34-year-old prevented the Naturena-based outfit from conceding a goal despite an avalanche of attempts from Wydad’s forwards.

Akpeyi just turned eagle flying and catching every shots coming into his sticks with a total of 8 saves at the end of the match.

Daniel Akpeyi was in competition with Wydad Casablanca’s duo Achra Dari (defender) and Mohamed Ounnajem (forward) and his teammate Eric Mathoho (midfielder) for the Award.

However, he beats all of them with a strong percentage (54%). Akpeyi si yet to concede a goal in his last six CAF Champions league appearances with Kaizer Chiefs this season.
