Egypt Misr El-Makkasa Head Coach Resigned After Defeat To Zamalek On Monday

Misr El-Makkasa head coach Mohamed Azima resigned after their defeat to Cairo giants Zamalek. The Egyptian coach took over the side back in March to replace Ehab Galal who left for Ismaily SC.

In his 13 games in charge, the 52-year-old won four games and lost six, with three of these defeats coming in their last three encounters.

Their 1-0 loss to league leaders Zamalek on Monday was the last straw for Azima who announced that he will resign from his position.

However, the former Al Ahly assistant manager revealed that he took the decision before losing to the White Knights. Azima will leave the Fayum-based side while they sit seventh on the Egyptian Premier League table.

At the managerial level, Azima coached several of Al Ahly youth teams, as well as a number of clubs in the Gulf area.mMst notably Al-Faisaly of Jordan and the youth national teams of Jordan and Oman.

El-Makkasa’s next game will be against 16th place Wadi Degla next Monday, July 5. If they manage to get the three points they will surpass ENPPI and Ittihad of Alexandria to jump to fifth place.
