Baroka FC have unveiled seven new signings, including Zambian international goalkeeper Cyril Chibwe, ahead of the next DStv Premiership season.

Chibwe, who is a regular for Chipolopolo, has signed for Baroka from GladAfrica Championship side, Polokwane City.

“Baroka FC are delighted to announce the signing of Zambia international goalkeeper, Cyril Chibwe on a three-year deal,” Baroka tweeted on Wednesday morning at Baroka Village in Lebowakgomo.

The new recruits include Bayzel Goldstone (Richards Bay FC), Train Mokhabi (JDR Stars), Decide Chauke (TS Sporting), Athenkosi Dlala (University of Pretoria), Sekela Sithole (Cape United), Bennet Bobete, Tshegofatso Bodega (both promoted) and Sydney Malivha (Marumo Diski Challenge.

Baroka chairman, Khurishi Mphahlele, told KickOff.com that they hope the new recruits would add value to the team.

“I watch these players every Friday on the GladAfrica Championship Show. Every Friday, SuperSport TV gives us an opportunity to watch them for one hour. I don’t miss that show. Even if I’m not at home, I make sure it’s recorded. Even Chauke, I wanted him last year but Sporting didn’t want to sell at all. But I didn’t give up. Where can I get a big name player? Can you get one in the street? Never! Big names never stay without a team. They move from one team to another,” he said.  

Baroka also used the ceremony to unveil the new kit for the new season. The team unveiled the kit alongside their technical sponsor Monflair.
