Africa Soccer MALAWI: Big Bullets snatch Nigerian striker Babatunde from rivals Wanderers

TNM Super League champions Nyasa Big Bullets have snatched highly-rated Nigerian forward Babatunde Adepoju from the noses of their bitter rivals, Mighty Wanderers.

Bullets unveiled Adepoju in the commercial capital Blantyre on Thursday after tying him down to a three-year contract.

He has joined on a  free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Wanderers on June 30 2021.

The 25-year-old has since described his switch to Bullets ‘a dream come true.’

It feels good to be a Bullets player and I believe I will be able to contribute what I am capable of to the team with the help of head coach Kalisto Pasuwa and my fellow players. I believe I will add value to the team,” the striker told the club’s media.

Adepoju has four goals to his credit in the domestic league this season and last season he registered 14 goals.

The towering Nigerian announced his arrival in Malawi when he helped the now defunct Masters Security FC to the Carlsberg Cup glory after beating Wanderers.

Bullets have also signed Paul Kansungwi from Red Lions, Alick Lungu (free agent) and Erick Kaonga from Ekwendeni Hammers.

Bullets are challenging for the fourth successive league championship while also eyeing strong participation in the CAF Champions League.
