Super Eagles duo, Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun were in action as Scottish Professional Football League Champions, Rangers slipped to a 1-0 loss against Tranmere Rovers.

Rangers who continued their pre-season in preparation for the 2021-2022 Scottish League kick were punished for not using their chances.

A stunning 25-yard goal in the 35th minute by Kieron Morris was a Tranmere Rovers needed to stun Aribo and Balogun club.

Steven Gerrard made 10 changes at the break bringing Balogun, Aribo and others to give his players the opportunity to get match fitness.

However, it could not make any difference to the scoreline with Rangers dominated possession and created a number of chance which they failed to convert.

Ryan Kent fired a Calvin Bassey cross wide first of all, and then Cedric Itten brought a smart stop out of Murphy with a decent strike from the edge of the box following fine work from Joe Aribo.

The Gers will now focus on their next week Saturday friendly game against Arsenal at the Ibrox.
