Kaizer Chiefs are aiming at winning their biggest continental trophy as they take on Al Ahly in CAF Champions League final on Saturday. Ahead of their historic event, Chiefs’ midfielder Njabulo Blom has vowed that Amakhosi will give it their all to ensure they get their hands on the biggest prize in continental club football.Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly team currently stands the Soweto giants’ way of lifting the trophy. And it will no doubt be a massive battle for the trophy on Saturday.
“I am so excited. wbut it was not easy. We didn’t start very well in the group stages. Because we won some games and lost some games. But as a team, we told ourselves we will keep on going and grinding and working and keep on believing. Us being here in the final is our hard work as a team. And it’s God’s grace. We have prepared well as a team. And we will go there and give our best. We will try win the trophy. But we won’t underestimate Al Ahly. Because we know that they are a very experienced team. They are a very good team.” Blom told the Amakhosi media department.
“I feel like the technical team has done well in planning how we wil go out it in the game. We promise that we will go there and give our best. We promise that we will go there and represent Kaizer Chiefs and South Africa as a whole.”
Blom said the competition has made him grow as a player, having featured regularly throughout.
“It added a lot of experience (for me). Going out to play in some other countries, you get to see how they do things and how dedicated they are. I feel it helps me as a young player. And it makes me grow as an individual.” He continued.
