African players abroad Rangers unveil Zambian striker Fashion Sakala

Rangers FC have unveiled Zambian striker Fashion Sakala ahead of the new season in Scotland.

Fashion is here,” Rangers wrote on their Twitter page. “Welcome Fashion Sakala.”

Sakala can not wait to meet you, another one says: welcome to Ibrox Sakala. You will never forget your first visit to the Trophy Room.”

The Steven Gerrard side signed Sakala towards the end of last season from Belgian Jupiler Pro League outfit, KV Oostende.

The Chipolopolo striker penned a four-year contract with Rangers.

However, he was awaiting the completion of paperwork to complete his transfer.

Sakala has joined pre-season training but he is not part of the playing squad set to face Arsenal on Saturday in a friendly match at Ibrox.

The Light Blues will also welcome 2000 fans through the turnstiles.

Rangers face Blackpool, Brighton, and Hove Albion then complete warm up  matches by playing against Real Madrid.

Rangers will start their Scottish Premiership title defence at home against Livingston FC on July 31.

Sakala had a productive season in the just-ended campaign scoring 24 goals in 80 appearances for Oostende.

Gerrard recently told the media that Sakala had delayed to join the team due to “some passport and Covid-19 issues.”
