Italy and SSC Napoli striker Andrea Petagna is expecting to have a strong partnership with Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen under new coach Luciano Spaletti commands.
The 26-year-old faced a tough competition with Osimhen who is one of Napoli’s first choice forwards since he joined them from French Ligue 1 side LOSC last season.
He did not get much playing time under former Partenopei’s head coach Genaro Gattuso.
However, he expects to have his chance this season and to enjoy a good relationship with the Super Eagle.
“Me behind Osimhen? For characteristics, yes, I can also play with Victor or behind him,” the 26-year-old told Kiss Kiss Napoli, as per Completesports.
“I’m good at playing for the team, at coming to meet the ball, while Osimhen is good at attacking in behind (the defence).
“The coach will make his choices. I will train hard and work hard to be ready, then Spalletti will decide my position on the pitch, whether it’s first or second striker.
“My goal is to get into double figures and to get a few more minutes.”
