CAF Champions League Kaizer Chiefs Treated As Heroes When Back Home After Missing To Lift CAF CL Trophy

Despite going down in the final, Kaizer Chiefs fans still offered their side a fitting reception after a marvelous CAF Champions League campaign.

The Glamour Boys first made history by qualifying for the CAF Champions League group stages before backing that perfomance up with a string of unbelievable Knockout stage performances.

The journey eventually came to an end all the way in the final where Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly simply outclassed a 10-men Kaizer Chiefs in Morocco.

There’ll be little rest for Kaizer Chiefs’ players with the Carling Black Label Cup set to take place against rivals Orlando Pirates on 01 August 2021.

The Amakhosi won’t be competing on the continent next season after failing to win the final.

Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu FC will be representing South Africa in the CAF Champions League while Orlando Pirates and Marumo Gallants will feature in the CAF Confederation Cup.
