The love story between veteran midfielder Willard Katsande and Kaizer Chiefs has come to an end as the 35-year old will not extend his contract according to reports from South Africa.

The Zimbabwean defensive midfielder joined the Naturena-based side back in 2010 and has been wearing Glamour Boys’ outfit since then.

It was initially reported that Katsande will extend his contract which run out on June 30 with the Glamour Boys following the return of British gaffer Stuart Baxter with whom he won his two league titles.

However, despite being a starter in CAF Champions League final against Al Ahly (0-3 loss), things have dramatically changed for the Zimbabwean veteran.

According to reliable South African media Soccer Laduma, Willard Katsande found no agreement with Chiefs’ officials to extend his contract.

This said, the player is expected to leave Kaizer Chiefs this week as the club are set to start preparations ahead of next season.

During his time at Chiefs, Willard Katsande scored 17 goals and provided 9 assists in 308 appearances across all competitions.
