Egypt Al Ahly’s success has nothing to do with Pitso Mosimane – Club legend

Pitso Mosimane

Al Ahly and Egypt legend Magdy Abdelghany said Pitso Mosimane has no influence on the success he is having at Al Ahly since joining them in September 2020.

Mosimane hit the ground running at his arrival in Cairo as he quickly left the CAF Champions League title beating arch-rivals Zamalek SC in final.

He went on claiming the Egypt Cup and CAF Super Cup as well as a third-place finish in the Club World Cup in Qatar.

Despite all these outstanding results, the 56year-old is still subject to criticism as may believe his success is related to the quality group he has and nothing to do with his tactics.

The last one top aim dig at Pitso Mosimane is Magdy Abdelghany who is an Al Ahly legend.

“Mosimane, like [Manuel] Jose, was unsuccessful at first and then started winning, especially since Al Ahly faced weaker teams,” Abdelghany told Sada El-Balad TV, as per KingFut.

“Al Ahly’s success has nothing to do with Mosimane’s tactics, and he achieved results that he did not expect, and would never have signed a contract promising these results.

“I’m not attacking Mosimane, I’m just assessing his level and his choices. He has players who make the difference, and in the end the league will go to its normal place, El-Gezira [location of Al Ahly],” he added.
