Former Paris Saint-Germain and West Bromwich Albion player Youssouf Mulumbu has signed for the Democratic Republic of Congo giants FC Lupopo.

On their Facebook page, Lupopo confirmed to have signed Mulumbu on a one-year contract.

The Congolese international has just signed with Football Club Saint Éloi Lupopo of Haut-Katanga in the Democratic Republic of Congo. A ceremony took place this afternoon in Kinshasa where our countryman arrived two days ago. FC Saint Éloi Lupopo was represented by its new President Jacques Kyabula Katwe accompanied by Vice President Coco Mulongo,” the club says.

Tweeting after his unveiling, Mulumbu said: ′′Let’s build the future of our team @fcsteloilupopo.”

Mulumbu enjoyed a successful career in Europe especially in France and England.

He featured for PSG in 2004 before securing a move to West Brom in 2009.

The 34-year-old went on to win West Brom’s Player of the Year awards.

After some seasons in England, Mulumbu changed camps and signed for Norwich City 2015 on a free transfer.

Eventually, he moved to Scottish side Kilmarnock playing for them until 2018 before jumping ship to Celtic.

Mulumbu returned to Kilmarnock until May this year.

Mulumbu played for France under-20 and under-21 teams before switching to the Congolese national team in 2008.

He retired from the Leopards a year later citing lack of professionalism.
