Dstv Premiership Siphiwe Tshabalala released by AmaZulu a year after his arrival

Veteran South African midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala has been released by Dstv Premiership side AmaZulu FC and further revealed the reason behind that decision.

The 36-year old and joined the Durban-based outfit in October 2020 alongside with nine others as new signings.

However, the former Kaizer Chiefs star missed playing time as he just featured three times with the Usuthu.

With the club’s participation into CAF Champions League next season, they are reshuffling their workforce with signing but also with departures.

And Tshabalala is one of the first to be victim of Benni McCarthy’s decision who according to the club said Siphiwe is not in his plans.

Meantime, Tsepo Masilela will continue with the club as revealed by chairman Sandile Zungu.

“Masilela is definitely with the team, but Shabba [Tshabalala] doesn’t fit into the coach’s plans, so he’s been let go,” he told KickOff.

In addition, AmaZulu FC have unveiled seven new signings (Philani Zulu, Tercious Malepe, Keegan Buchanan, Mxolisi Kunene, Mattar Ceesay, Tshepang Moremi and Lindani Shange) last week to bolster their squad ahead of their first ever CAF Champions League campaign.
