Egyptian Premier League Soufiane Rahimi announces his next club and it is not Al Ahly

Highly-rated Moroccan midfielder Soufiane Rahimi announced the club he will be joining after his departure from Raja Casablanca and it is not Egyptian Premier League side Al Ahly.

The 25-year old has been a long-time target for the Cairo-based outfit. Red Devils coach Pitso Mosimane has even admitted that their pushing for his move as his playing style suit Al Ahly’s.

However, the lofty demands of Raja have cooled Mahmoud Khatib’s despite continuing talks with him in Casablanca where their lifted their record 10th CAF Champions League title beating Kaizer Chiefs (3-0) in final.

With time running out, Rahimi himself announced his departure and made it clear that it won’t be Al Ahly.

“I thank God for all the achievements I had with Raja, and I thank the fans for always supporting me, now it’s my time to leave,” Rahimi told a Moroccan TV Channel, as per KingFut.

“I will be joining Al Ain which is one of the biggest clubs in the United Arab Emirates and Asia.”

Furthermore, the TV Channel mentioned that the deal will coast $3million to the UAE Arabian Gulf side.

In addition, Soufiane Rahimi scored 19 goals and provided 17 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions with Raja last season. He will join in Emirati, his former teammate Ben Malango who signed for Al Shardjah a week ago.
