African players abroad Victor Moses Ruled Out Of Spartak Moscow’s UCLQ Against Benfica

Spartak Moscow coach Rui Vitoria will couldn’t count on Victor Moses when his side battle Benfica in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League at the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica on Tuesday night.

The former Chelsea wing-back is definitely out of the clash as he has not traveled with the Spartak Moscow squad to Portugal.

Moses suffered an injury after colliding with an opponent during the Russian Premier League match against Nizhny Novgorod on Saturday. This led to his substitution in the 36th minute.

During his Chelsea days, he was a non-playing substitute as the Blues defeated Benfica 2-1 to win the Europa League in May 2013.

The fact that the Spartak Moscow number 8 didn’t start the first leg tie last week suggests that he was patched up for the game after suffering an injury against Krylya Sovetov Samara on matchday two in the Russian Premier League.

Yes, our players may lack experience at this level. In addition, we did not bring Moses and Promes here, who are injured.” Said Spartak coach Vitoria speaking to reporters at the pre-match press conference.

Melkadze and Maslov are also absent. But we have a plan for tomorrow. I hope it helps us fix the mistakes and turn the situation around.” He added.
