Ghana 2022 World Cup qualifiers : CK Akonnor to announce Black Stars squad on Friday

Ghana Black Stars head coach CK Akonnor will name his squad on Friday (11am), August 13 for the forthcoming FIFA Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers in September, Ghana FA announced.

Charles Kwablan Akonnor will hold a press conference during which he will reveal his squad for the two matches that await Black Stars in September.

The West African side will first host Ethiopia on September 3 before travelling to Johannesburg to take on South Africa on the 6th of the same month.

CK Akonnor and the Black stars aim at securing Ghana a slot among the five reserved to African teams after the country missed out on the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria, the Pharaohs of Egypt, the Teranga Lions of Senegal, the Atlas Lions from Morocco and Tunisia’s Eagles of Carthage were the five African representatives in the last FIFA World Cup.
