Ligue 1 Kalu To Undergo Test After Slumping In Ligue 1 Game

Bordeaux manager Vladimir Petkovichas confirmed that Samuel Kalu is in fine condition after he slumped on Sunday during a game against Marseille.

Kalu slumped in the early minutes of the game at Marseille in a hot temperatures that raised to 30 degrees.

He however managed to stand up after he received prompt treatment and was immediately substituted .

The incident resonated the what occurred at the Euro 2020 games that saw Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest.

Petkovic while speaking said the winger responded positively to treatment and will undergo test today.

“I was thinking about what happened during the Euro.

“With the medical team, we chose to replace him so as not to take any risks

“In these cases, football takes a back seat.”

“According to the doctors, it’s a simple discomfort but he will certainly be undergoing tests on Monday.”

Speaking in the same vein, Remi Oudin who replaced Kalu and scored the equalizer described the incident as shocking.

“Kalu’s incident gave us chills.

“It’s always a bit shocking for spectators and players on the pitch.

“With what happened with Eriksen at the Euros, we think about it.

“Everyone got a little scared. Fortunately, it ended well.

Kalu had also in June 2019 hospitalized after he suffered from dehydration while training with the Super Eagles during the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
