Ghana Premier League Ghana FA allows clubs to register 40 players for 2021/22 season

Ghana Football Association (Ghana FA) announced on Wednesday evening that clubs are authorized to register up to 40 players for the upcoming 2021/22 season.

The decision concerns the Ghana Premier League, Division One League, MTN FA Cup, Women’s Premier League and the Women’s MTN FA Cup.

The 40 players include 30 professional players and 10 others who are under 17 in order to promote youth development throughout the league.

“The Ten U-17 players are also permitted to play in the juvenile team of the club in the district juvenile league for the club”, GFA explained on its official website.

“The 40 players, made up of Amateur and Professionals, are eligible to play in the MTN FA Cup, the Women’s FA Cup and all GFA sanctioned competitions”.

Furthermore, it will also help clubs to have a bench depth in the league with possible positive Covid-19 tests to come out all along their run.
