Africa Soccer Cameroon coach Conceiçao names 28-man squad for 2022 World Cup qualifiers

Cameroon national team head coach Antonio Conceiçao has named his final squad which is made of 28 players for 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers in September.

The first squad revealed by the Portuguese manager included 32 players with Olympique Marseille’s young goalkeeper Simon Ngapandouetnbu.

However, the 18-year old missed out on the new squad as well as Lille star Jean Onana and Ajax Amsterdam shot stopper Andre Onana who is UEFA-sanctionned.

Moreover, Liverpool centre-back Joel Matip is also dropped despite being back with the Reds and partnered with Virgil Van Dijk during the week-end in Premier League against Burnley;

However, the team’s key pillars the like of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Zambo Anguissa are all called up.

In addition, Cameroon will take on Malawi on September 3 and Ivory Coast on September 6.
