Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have announced the contract extension of their versatile right-back Joshua Kimmich until June 2025.

Kimmich, 26, joined Bayern Munich when he was 21 in 2015. So far, he won almost all possible trophies with the German powerhouse including the UEFA Champions League in 2020 as they defeated PSG in final.

With his current contract nearing the end, Bayern Munich official decided to quickly extend it in order to avoid the like of Gianluigi Donnarumma who left AC Milan free this summer for Paris Saint-Germain.

Joshua Kimmich expressed delight after putting pen on paper and committed himself to better days with the club.

“The most important reason for my contract extension is that here at FC Bayern I can enjoy my passion every day”, Kimmich told Bayern’s official web.

“I have a team that I can do anything with, and a lot of my teammates have become real friends. That’s why I started playing football: because it must be fun.

“I don’t see myself at the end of my development yet and I am convinced that a lot is possible at FC Bayern in the coming years. In addition, my family feels very comfortable here.

“Munich has become a second home. The combination we have here cannot be found anywhere in the world. “
