Chelsea forward Ike Ugbo has completed his move to Jupiler League side KRC Genk. The Belgian FA Cup winners have beaten a host of other clubs to the signing of the Chelsea academy graduate
According to reports, the Belgian club reportedly shelled out €7.5 million to convince the UEFA Champions League winners to part with the 22-year-old Super Eagles prospect.
Ugbo had become the toast of several clubs in the European circuit following an incredible loan spell at Cercle Brugge. The Super Eagle managed to score 15 league goals for them last season.
Newly promoted Serie A side Salernitana and Marseille were linked to the signing of the Chelsea academy graduate ahead of the 2021-22 season. But Genk have won the race to his signature. And they are adding the ex-England youth international of Nigerian descent to the Super Eagles duo of Paul Onuachu and Cyriel Dessers.
Ugbo could make his Genk debut when the Smurfs host Anderlecht at the Luminus Arena this weekend.
