Egypt Zamalek Coach Patrice Carteron Expressed Delight After Winning The League Title

Zamalek beat Entag El-Harby 2-0 on Tuesday to claim the 2020/2021 Egyptian Premier League title over rivals Al Ahly. And Zamalek head coach Patrice Carteron expressed his happiness after having guided the club to success.

Zamalek lifted their 13th league title on Tuesday night after beating in their penultimate match of the season.

This marked Carteron’s third trophy in charge of the White Knights after he previously won the CAF Super Cup and Egyptian Super Cup in his first stint in charge of the White Knights.

I’m very happy to win the league title. It’s a very special trophy. And I congratulate the board and the fans after winning the last 8 matches and lifting the title.” Said the Frenchman talked to OnTime Sport.

It was a special season for me. I was there, then I left and came back. But I feel comfortable here. We have new goals to achieve next season.” He added.Carteron then talked about Ferjani Sassi’s departure and how they won although they had to finish the season without the Tunisia international.

We have Emam Ashour. He’s the future of the club. This, in addition to the excellent performances from loaned players, will give us great momentum for next season.” Continued the coach.

The 51-year-old then talked about his favorite match of the season and the club’s upcoming transfers.

There is no specific match that I preferred this season. But we played really well against Al Masry and Tala’a El-Gaish.” He explained.

We were physically dominant in the second-half in most matches, which is what we will work on keeping up next season.

“I won’t talk about the new transfers. We are currently working on stabilizing the squad. Like we did with renewing for Zizo and El-Wensh, and the ongoing negotiations with Achraf Bencharki.”

“He appeared with us in many matches. And he had the right to be present and celebrate the title. This happens in football.” Concluded coach Carteron.
