Godwin Aguda has scored nine goals for Rivers United in his home country in 2021.

“We have followed Godwin for quite some time.

“He has been a prominent player in the Nigerian league during the year.

“Godwin is an offensive player who can play in most places.

“He works hard for the team and we hope that he will develop in a good way with us, says FFF’s sports manager Håkan Nilsson.

An elated Aguda spoke with the club media after he signed his contract.

He said; “ I am happy to sign for Falkenbergs FF. It’s a step forward for me in my career.

“I have heard that the club is really good at taking care of its players.

“I know that there are several African players who are happy to belong to the team.

“I started following the team – when I heard that they were interested in me – six months ago.

“Dominic Chatto has told me a lot about the city and the club.

“It seems to be a nice club that is familiar and has a very caring atmosphere, says the 23-year-old.”

He also talked about his preferred position and described the type of player he is.

“I prefer to play as a trailing striker or as a right or left rider. I can also play box-to-box players from midfield.

“I keep a high level when it comes to the marking game and work very hard.

“I’m strong, I’m a good pass player and I’m good at scoring goals.

“I am comfortable with the ball and am a humble, loyal, focused and smart team player, says the new acquisition.

He said that he has a lot to contribute, but says humbly:

First I have to get to know the players and learn the style of play.

“Hopefully I can adapt quickly and help the team with my qualities and above all score goals.

With two Nigerian players already with FFF, Aguda was asked if he knew the players, but he told the club media that he was looking forward to meet them.

“I do not know Nsima and Umar, but I have heard from Chatto that they are nice.

“I look forward to meeting them.

“I am very happy to have Chatto around me. I respect him a lot.

“He has always been like a big brother to me and my agent has told me a lot about how good he was as a player.

This will be Aguda’s second stint in Europe having played in Saudi Arabia.
