South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns qualified for the CAF Women’s Champions League-Cosafa zone semifinal slot after beating Botswana’s Double Action 6-0 in Durban on Saturday afternoon.
Sundowns went ahead through Zanele Nhlapho’s penalty goal converted in the 13th minute before Melinda Kgadiete added the second goal.
Kgadiete made it a personal double shortly afterwards then Andisiwe Mgcoyi added the fourth goal.
Thereafter, Kgadiete made it 5-0 and with it her hat-trick then Lelona Daweti increased the goals tally to six.
Sundowns have six points having won the first game of Group A on Thursday.
The South Africans can be joined in the semifinals by either Lesotho Defence Force or Eswatini’s Manzini Wanderers who drew 1-1 draw earlier in the day at the same venue.
Only the overall winner of the Cosafa qualifiers will book the ticket to the continental finals.
On Sunday, Namibia’s TURA Magic meet Zimbabwe’s Black Rhinos Queens in the three-team Group B.
Zimbabwe’s Rhinos started the competition with a 2-0 win over Green Buffaloes from Zambia on Friday.
Top two teams from each of the groups will advance to the semifinals scheduled for September 2.
