AshantiGold have appointed former Ebusua Dwarfs trainer, Ernest Thompson Quartey as new head coach ahead of the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League season. Coach Quartey has penned a two-year deal with the Miners after successful negotiations.

AshantiGold finished last season with five coaches in charge of the club. Roberto Landi, Milovan Cirkovic, Romain Folz, Sarfo Castro, and Thomas Duah were all in the dugout at some stage during the season.

Thomas Duah acted as the interim head coach from May till the end of the season as AshantiGold finished 9th position on the league standings.

The Miners also made it to the final of the FA Cup. But they lost on penalties to league champions, Hearts of Oak.

Coach Quartey handled Dwarfs from the beginning of the campaign. But he left the post in June 2021.
