South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies beat Black Rhinos Queens from Zimbabwe 3-0 to lift the Cosafa zone club championship and with it, book a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League finals.
The final of the seven-team tournament took place at King Zwelithini Stadium in South Africa’s coastal city of Durban on Saturday afternoon.
CAF president Patrice Motsepe witnessed the final alongside FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura, among other dignitaries.
The South African side did not waste time to impose itself on the game.
Sundowns scored first through Lerato Kgasago in the 12th minute.
Sundowns scored the second goal in the 78th minute through Nonhlanhla Mthandi.
Thereafter, Boitumelo Rabale added the third and final goal of the match.
