Nigeria Super Eagles came from a goal down and defeated Cape Verde 2-1 in Tuesday’s Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Estadio Municipal Aderito Sena, in Mindelo.
The Super Eagles headed to Cape Verde on the back of their 2-0 win against Liberia in the opening Group C game.
However, the home team were first to score as Dylan Tavares got to a long cross before hitting a left-foot strike which beat Maduka Okoye at his near post.

Chidera Ejuke almost levelled for the Super Eagles with a curler but Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha dealt with the ball and palmed the ball over the bar.
Victor Osimhen equalized in the 30th minute as he pounced on a rebound ball following a poor clearance from Cape Verde player, Kelvin Pires.
An own goal in the 76th minute by Kenny Rocha who had intended to play a back pass to his goalkeeper, ended letting his team down.
With the victory, Nigeria remains top of Group C with six points while Liberia are second with three points.
Nigeria next FIFA World Cup qualifier will be a double header in October against Central African Republic .
