Dstv Premiership Mamelodi Sundowns beat Chiefs to move on top of Dstv Premiership table

Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns stole the show ahead of their Sunday afternoon opponents (2-0) at Loftus Versfeld Stadium to go on top of the Dstv Premiership table.

It took just seven minutes for the Brazilians to break the deadlock as Grant Kekana put the home side ahead as he converted an assist from Lyle Lakay into the back of the net.

Despite Amakhosi’s struggles to come back to the scoresheet, the scoreline remained unchanged until the referee whistled the half-time.

Masandawana did not change their ambitions, rather they increased them and scored a second goal thanks to their talisman Peter Shalulile in the 63rd minute.

Kaizer Chiefs had the opportunity to reduce the scoring, but South African midfielder Lebogang Manyama missed his penalty.

Mamelodi Sundowns then claimed all three points and climb to the top of the league table with seven points out of three games. Chiefs on the other hand sit 10th with just four points.
